Mint Caipi ( Memorial Day Weekend Drink)

Memorial Day weekend is coming and that means bbq and a summer drink! The long weekend is the ideal time to host a party, to not only celebrate the braveries of soldiers who have died for their country but to celebrate family and friends. Memorial Day gives that chance to relax and appreciate each other.

On any hot summer day, I’m always craving a drink that’s light and fresh to cool myself down with. So I created the Mint Caipi, similar to a Mojito but slightly different. Adding the Mint Caipi as one of your choices gives a light and healthier replacement to any Budweiser you buy at the store. It’s super easy to make in just a few minutes and it is a party pleaser, perfect for the Memorial Day parties you want to host.

Recipe:

One Serving Size:

1 ½ ounces of sake, cachaca, vodka or bourbon

Half a lime cut into four wedges

4-5 mint leaves (depending on your preference)

1 teaspoons agave nectar light

Ice

Muddle together the mint leaves, limes and agave nectar light in a glass. Fill the glass with ice. Add your choice of spirit above. Stir well and garnish with a slice of lime and a mint leaf bunch.

Punch Bowl:

1/2 bottle of cachaca, vodka, sake or bourbon

1 ½ cup freshly squeezed lime juice

¼ cup agave nectar light

1 packed cup mint leaves

Ice

Place all the ingredients in a large bowl and stir well. You can also garnish with sliced limes and mint leaves.
Happy Memorial Weekend!
