For those who aren’t aware of the vibrant, Brazilian Party atmosphere that lives within the streets of NYC, now is perfect time to expand outside the ordinary. Since the Rio 2016 Olympics kicked off , I have decided to go on a tour throughout New York City to try some unique Brazilian foods and cocktails that go along with the fun festivities. These are the recommendations that have won gold in my book.
My first stop was with the Sarau Brazilian Party at the Hotel Chantelle in the LES. It was such a hidden gem! Hotel Chantelle is a parisian style restaurant and bar; It offers an exclusive rooftop lounge area where the Sarau Party kicks off every Sunday during the summer and once a month after the season.
Since we are celebrating the Olympiad I am dressing in one of the colors of the five rings presented in the Olympic flag. The look I am wearing is a red midi dress styled with a cuff bracelet, a three layered choker, and a pair of red wedges that compliment well with the wardrobe. It’s a blazing outfit for an evening rooftop party on a hot summer day.

The Sarau Party begins at 6pm, but don’t be fashionably late because you will miss a complimentary caipirinha made with Leblon Cachaca and they will be on a special during the party. To start off, the food was simply delicious. The Brazilian Party isn’t only limited to Brazilian cocktails such as the caipirinha, but rather offer a selection of tropical drinks. As a Mixologist the Bar is my favorite spot to be looking for my new next cocktail inspiration and my favorite for this Event was the Pineapple Express made from the hands of Hotel Chantelle lovely bartender, John Fiore. It can come in a spiced version using the jalapeño but you can have no spiced as I did. The drink is well balanced with a refreshing summer taste.
The White Truffle Flatbread is fantastic if you want to grab a quick bite during the party. If you are interested in a meal, there is a full menu entailed with French cuisine straight from the hands of Chef Seth Levine.
After indulging in the savory tastes of Sarau, I was really enjoying the ambiance around me. The crowd was very diverse in age and ethnicity, plus it wasn’t an overwhelming event. The space was big enough for people to dance, walk and hangout. Sarau provides a live DJ followed by a live music band 4US that infuses Brazilian rhythms and pop music.
The band that enchants the crowd with its sweet melodies shares the stage with Wilson Henriques, The Sarau Brazilian Party host. By 8 o’clock, the party starts to warm up through the cultural vibes and for the grand finale, a Samba dancer comes out and teaches Samba moves to the crowd. It was an absolute joy to dance to the rhythms of my home with some amazing people and great drinks. If you are looking for a Brazilian party to go to in NYC, definitely check out The Sarau Party at Hotel Chantelle.
Stay tuned for next Brazilian place adventure around NYC always mixed with some of my Olympic looks this month!
Have a great day:){:}{:br}
