New York is one of the most intriguing cities I have ever visited in my life. After living here for more than ten years, I would love to share some of the unique attractions in the heart of the Big Apple. I will begin with my lovely neighborhood, “The Upper West Side.”
I love to explore the beauty of Central Park, primarily around the Upper West Side area. Central Park is the first urban park established in the United States. It was opened to the public in 1857 and since then, it has been the most photographed location in the world. It is a peaceful and calm escape from the chaotic concrete jungle. You can enjoy a smooth bike ride, have a drink with friends, exercise and mediate, listen to music, meet/befriend people from around the world and my personal favorite, take wonderful pictures!
These are five interesting places you can visit inside Central Park:
1. Strawberry Fields: located close to the 72 street and Central Park West entrance.
Strawberry Fields is a park dedicated to John Lennon by the famous “Dakota” building where he used live. You are able to rest on benches, take pictures of the Imagine monument, and sometimes find musicians playing popular John Lennon and Beatle songs around the area. You cannot miss it!
2. Bethesda Terrace and Fountain: located close to the 72 street and Central Park West Entrance.
If you want to take pictures with a beautiful view of the lake, this is certainly the best spot to go. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, especially on a warm Summer day. You will see people rowing boats, feeding the snapping turtles, throwing their wishes into the fountain, and so much more! You might even bump into a bride and groom posing for their wedding pictures. The possibilities here are endless!
3. Sheep Meadow Field: located close to the 67 street and Central Park West.
If you are looking to enjoy the beautiful weather outside with a picnic or suntanning session, this is the place to be. This is a common spot for New Yorkers and tourists looking to have the ultimate relaxation experience.
4. Le Pain Quotidien: located close to the 67 street and Central Park West.
Do you want to grab a bite to eat while strolling through Central Park? No worries! You will enjoy a delicious meal here at Le Pain Quotidien. You will enjoy breakfast, snacks, coffee/tea, and even lunch. This is the perfect spot for a hungry tummy. It is worth a try.
5. Tavern on the Green: located by the 67 street and Central Park West entrance.
This is another perfect spot for lunch, but you will need to make reservations ahead of time. When the weather is nice, Tavern on the Green also has an outdoor garden and bar perfect for an after hour drink during warmer seasons.
Although there are many more amazing hidden spots in Central Park, these are by far my top five favorite areas. Who knows, maybe one day if you take a stroll through Central Park you might find something different to enjoy yourself. I am almost confident that Central Park will not be a disappointment to you. In fact, it will be one of the sweetest experiences of your life.{:}{:br}
Nova York e um dos lugares mais interessantes que eu já visitei na minha vida, e não e a toa que escolhi a Big Apple como a minha residência. Depois de morar na cidade por mais de 10 anos eu já posso me considerar uma “New Yorker” e hoje eu posso compartilhar as os meus lugares favoritos. Eu vou começar o meu tour no meu próprio bairro, o Upper West Side, que eu considero um dos melhores bairros residências dentro de Manhattan.
Nada melhor que começar explorando as belezas do Central Park e suas atrações localizadas no Upper West Side. O Central Park e o primeiro parque urbano nos Estados Unidos. Foi aberto ao publico em 1857 e desde então e o lugar mais fotografado do mundo. E um lugar calmo e aconchegante onde e possível fugir do um pouco da correria de NY. Você pode andar de bicicleta, se exercitar, meditar, encontrar os amigos ou ate fazer novas amizades, ouvir musica e tirar belas fotos.

- Strawberry Fields:Localizado perto da entrada da 72 street com Central Park West
Strawberry Fields e um parquet dedicado a John Lennon perto do famoso prédio Dakota, onde o cantor Morava e também onde faleceu. E possível sentar ao som das musica dos Beatles sempre tocada por artistas locais e visitar o famoso monumento “Imagine”. Uma das atrações principais do parque sem duvida…
- Bethesda Terrace and Fountain: localizado próximo a entrada da 72 street com o Central Park West
Lugar perfeito para tirar fotografias da fonte com vista para o Lago, esse seria o melhor lugar para fotografias no Park. O cenário e perfeito, especialmente nas estacoes mais quentes. Onde e possível ver as canoas no lago, alimentar as tartarugas, fazer perdidos na fonte e muito mais… Vários usam o lugar para fotografia de noivos. Você pode escolher a sua própria ocasião para fotografar.
- Sheep Meadow Field:Localizado próximo a entrada da 67 street e Central Park West
Se você esta procurando por um lugar para aproveitar as estacoes mais quentes de NY, esse seria o lugar ideal. Esse e um lugar comum para new Yorkers e turistas irem. Perfeito para tomar sol, fazer um picnique e relaxar nos dias mais quentes.
- Le Pain Quotidien:Localizado perto da entrada da 67 street e Central Park West
Se você quiser fazer um lanche rápido, tomar café da manha, almoçar, ou somente uma parada para o cafezinho enquanto visitando o Park, esse seria o local mais indicado. Vale a pena conferir!
- Tavern on the Green:Localizada na entrada da 67 street com Central Park West
Restaurante tradicional e super conhecido, e necessário fazer reservas com antecedência para garantir um lugar no local. Esse e outro restaurante perfeito para o almoço, um jantar romântico e nas estacoes mais quentes o restaurante tem um bar na área externa perfeito para um drink.
